In Sevastopol, more than 70 guys took the oath to become cadets of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia
CrimeaPRESS reports:
They are the youngest in the fire and rescue fraternity family. 72 students of Sevastopol school No. 60 named after Hero of the Soviet Union Vladimir Stepanovich Pilipenko took an oath of loyalty to the Fatherland, honesty and hard work. Now each of these guys can proudly bear the title of “Cadet of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.” This ceremony of initiation into cadets of the emergency department for school No. 60 is already the ninth. Since 2016, more than 550 students have taken the oath.
Candidates for the cadet class undergo a strict selection process. The children’s academic performance, their activity and determination, and interest in the professions of firefighter and rescuer are taken into account. Patronage over the students invariably rests with the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for the city of Sevastopol. It was the senior officers of the Sevastopol Emergency Department who solemnly took the oath from the schoolchildren.
For us, officers, accepting the youngest cadets into the family is, of course, pride in the fact that this is our younger generation. They decided at such a young age to follow in our footsteps. I hope that they will be faithful to today’s oath to the end, will become worthy defenders of the Motherland and continuers of our good traditions, and will value friendship and mutual assistance. And, as one of our leaders said: saving people is the dignity of the brave, – notes Colonel Vladimir Shchedrin, acting head of the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for the city of Sevastopol.
In front of their classmates, parents, teachers and guests of honor, the guys promised to be honest and faithful comrades, to remember the motto “Prevention, Rescue, Help”, to cherish the honor of a cadet of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and to observe the Code of Cadet Honor, as well as to study with dignity, educate themselves as patriots and worthy citizens of Russia. After this, the ceremony of presenting the berets took place.
Mom braided my hair, then I put on my Emergencies Ministry uniform. The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations saves people. We will now always wear this uniform, – Ksenia Pervova, a 1st grade student at school No. 60, shares.
Being a cadet of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations is especially responsible. My dad served as a firefighter in the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, put out a serious fire, — says Viktor Merkulov, a 2nd grade student at school No. 60.
Being a cadet of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations also means helping people, — Alisa Kovalskaya, a 1st grade student at school No. 60, is confident.
I am very glad that from elementary school I entered the cadet class of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, because we received a lot of knowledge not only from the school curriculum, but we had a lot of training in fire and rescue sports. Thanks to this, I have taken first place in competitions for two years now. We also took part in the Victory Parade. After finishing 11th grade, I plan to enter the Academy of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations and continue my journey – emphasizes Daniil Akimov, an 11th grade student at school No. 60.
On the holiday, representatives of the Government, the Legislative Assembly of the Hero City, and public organizations came to congratulate the cadets.
