In Sevastopol, more than a thousand parents of children with disabilities retired early
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Parents and guardians who care for children with disabilities have various benefits from the state, including the opportunity to retire early. Today in Sevastopol, 1078 parents of special children have already taken advantage of this right.
In families raising disabled children, one of the parents has the right to retire early. It does not matter when the child was recognized as disabled and how long he remained disabled. Thus, at the age of 50, the mother of a disabled child with a minimum insurance period of 15 years can receive an old-age insurance pension. If the family decides that the child’s father takes out the pension, then he can receive an insurance pension at age 55. The minimum insurance period for men must be at least 20 years,” noted the press service of the Sevastopol Branch of the Social Fund of the Russian Federation.
The right to early assignment of an old-age insurance pension is granted subject to the following mandatory conditions:
- the presence of at least 25.8 individual pension coefficient in 2023;
- the fact that the medical and social examination bodies recognize the child as disabled or “disabled since childhood” (and at the time the mother or father applies for early pension, this child may no longer be disabled);
- raising a disabled child up to the age of eight, and it does not matter if they live together with their parents.
Guardians of disabled children have the right to early retirement under the same conditions. For them, the retirement age is reduced by one year for every 1.5 years of guardianship (but no more than 5 years in total). Importantly, guardianship must be established before the child turns 8 years old.
