In Sevastopol, on General Melnik Street, construction is underway on an indoor skating rink with artificial ice. The project is being implemented within the framework of the state program for the socio-economic development of Sevastopol and Crimea.
The overall construction readiness of the skating rink is about 50%; we plan to complete the main construction work by the end of the year and begin commissioning. Currently, the site is carrying out monolithic and welding work, finishing work in the administrative block, installation of a ventilation system, utilities, and work is underway on the construction of the facade,” noted I. O. Deputy Governor Pavel Ieno.
The building consists of two sections of different number of floors: the skating rink section with stands is one-story, and the administrative section is three-story. There are four entrances from the street on the ground floor.
The project involves the arrangement of the main premises of the skating rink on the ground floor — an ice arena with an ice field of 60×30 m and stands for 750 seats, ten of which are intended for wheelchair users, as well as the arrangement of an inventory room, four blocks of locker rooms for 25 people each, a lobby, a security room, wardrobe, cash desk, bathrooms, a skate rental room with a separate entrance area, coaching and referee blocks, a block of medical services, a cafeteria with auxiliary rooms and a separate service entrance, rooms for ice cleaning machines and cleaning equipment rooms.
On the second floor it is planned to equip a gym with locker rooms for exercisers, including disabled people, acrobatic and choreographic halls, wardrobes, equipment rooms, a coaching room, cleaning equipment rooms, a sound equipment room and a commentary room.
The third floor will house ventilation chambers, a meeting room, a special technical training room, bathrooms and a cleaning equipment room, administrative and utility rooms.
