In Sevastopol, participants of the new volunteer movement «Safe Side» discussed plans for the year

On the basis of the Resource Center for Support of Volunteerism, the first meeting of the participants of the new volunteer anti-drug movement «Safe Side» was held. With the Deputy Head of the Department for Youth and Sports, Marina Slonchenko, they discussed the plan of events for the year. Thus, in 2023, it is planned to hold the “Paint Over the Danger” campaign, organize a series of sports events and thematic quizzes, as well as visit schools with preventive talks. A theatrical production is being prepared for June, which the participants of the Safe Side will direct and play themselves.

The movement unites our active participants in the «Paint the Danger» campaign and new guys — graduates of the «Safe Side» educational program, who together during the year will hold a set of various anti-drug events. Anyone over the age of 16 can join the guys — just leave a request in the group «AVD» Safe Side «in VKontakte— the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes Marina Slonchenko.

The age limit is related to the orientation of the volunteer movement. But with a strong desire, anyone can become a Safe Side volunteer — the youngest participant, Nikita, is only 10 years old. He attends events with his mom and plans to volunteer in the future.

The year before last, I came with my mother to a community work day and since then I have been trying to attend with her all the events that require volunteers. I really like the action «Paint over the danger». The last time we painted over about 150 inscriptions on houses in the park area on Pobedy Avenue — so far this is a record— says Nikita.

The Safe Side volunteer movement was created as part of the project of Lyubov Litvinenko, the winner of the 2022 All-Russian Youth Project Competition. The educational program and events are held with the aim of involving the youth of Sevastopol in volunteering as part of achieving the goals of the regional project «Social Activity» of the national project «Education».
