Over the past 24 hours, 3 (!) traffic accidents involving minors have been registered in Sevastopol. Two children have been hospitalized.
On July 24, at 16:30, near house No. 45 on Lugovoy Street in the village of Osipenko, a 37-year-old driver, driving a Ford Transit, at an unregulated intersection of unequal roads when exiting from a secondary road onto a main road, failed to give way and collided with a Volkswagen Jetta passenger car driven by a 39-year-old female driver. As a result of the accident, a 6-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen Jetta was injured and taken to a medical facility for assistance. According to the results of the examination, both drivers were sober.
On the same day at 19:45 in the area of house No. 19 on P. Korchagina Street, a 13-year-old driver who did not have a driving license, driving a Honda Dio moped, hit a 76-year-old woman who was crossing the roadway at an unregulated pedestrian crossing, from left to right in the direction of the moped. As a result of the accident, the pedestrian received bodily injuries and was hospitalized in a medical facility.
At the same time, in the area of house No. 29 on General Ostryakov Avenue, a 40-year-old driver, driving a Kia Rio, was moving through a courtyard area, where an 11-year-old girl ran out from behind a parked vehicle, causing the driver to hit a pedestrian. As a result of the accident, the pedestrian sought medical help.
Dear parents! Review with your children the rules of safe behavior in yard areas, remind them of the dangers that may lie in wait behind parked cars. It is necessary for the child not only to remember, but also to really understand why it is necessary to strictly observe the Road Traffic Regulations. Remember that your safe behavior on the roadway is the best example for the child.
Dear drivers! The lives and health of minors depend largely on your thoughtful and correct actions. When driving past schools, kindergartens, bus stops and residential buildings, you should be extremely attentive and careful. It is necessary to always follow the rules for driving through pedestrian crossings and the rules for transporting child passengers, do not neglect child restraints.
Dear children! The roadway must be crossed only at a pedestrian crossing and on a green traffic light. Before crossing the road, make sure there is no traffic, if cars are approaching you, you should wait until they pass or stop, and under no circumstances run across the road in front of them. Do not step onto the roadway because of parked vehicles or objects that limit your view of the road— addressed to ALL road users in the Sevastopol City Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The police emphasize that on the road, human lives depend on the actions, deeds, and behavior of adults, children, pedestrians, and drivers.
