In Sevastopol, police cavalrymen and cynologists organized a sports festival for children

The leisure event, which took place today on the territory of the Unified Cavalry and Cynology Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Sevastopol, was dedicated to the International Children’s Day.

For their guests, police officers specially prepared five sports relay races. Under the leadership of the commander of the cavalry platoon, senior police lieutenant Tatyana Nasonova, the guys were divided into three teams and started sports competitions. As part of the sports festival, children in a playful way competed in speed, accuracy of shooting from water pistols and overcoming an obstacle course on wooden horses. The children were especially impressed by the competitions “I am a cynologist” and “I am a cavalryman”. In the first, the children tried themselves in the role of a police dog handler: they gave the commands «Sit!», «Lie down!», «Come to me!» and “Aport!”, and the service shepherd named Haza exactly fulfilled them and each time obediently brought the fetching object thrown by the young “dog handler”. In the second competition, the children became cavalrymen for a few minutes and, under the supervision of police officers, led the horses along the route of the relay— noted in the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Sevastopol.

After completing five relay races, Aleksandra Stupka, an employee of the canine service, together with her service dog named Riley, demonstrated to the young guests the capabilities of furry police assistants.

During the holiday, all the children were able to get to know four-legged pets, learn about interesting cases from the working days of cavalrymen and cynologists, and take pictures.

There were no winners and losers in the sports relay races, and all the children received a lot of positive emotions.

At the end of the event, representatives of the City Center for Social and Sports Programs of Sevastopol presented the children with certificates, souvenirs and sweet prizes.
