In Sevastopol, prices for vegetables and chicken decreased. Noticed?
Krympress reports:
The Department of Agriculture and the Consumer Market noted: carrots and beets, as well as chilled and frozen chicken, were especially noticeable. The price of cucumbers increased slightly, which is explained by the seasonal factor — the beginning of the harvest and the transition to a new batch of products.
Today, the department’s specialists conducted another test of compliance with the conditions of the memorandum of understanding in the PUD trading network. For several years, Sevastopol has been successfully implemented by a mechanism aimed at holding prices for socially significant goods — “Memorandum of understanding”. This is an agreement between the city authorities and retail chains, signed on the initiative of the governor Mikhail Razvozhaev. It suggests that retail chains voluntarily install the minimum (from 0% to 15%) a trading margin on a certain list of socially significant goods.
For the convenience of consumers, goods involved in the framework of the memorandum should be highlighted with bright light blue price tags with the inscription «memorandum» or special wobblers. Each store organized a “buyer’s corner”, where a full list of preferential goods, designed in a single style, is placed.
Monitoring compliance with the terms of the agreement is carried out weekly by representatives of the Department of Agriculture and the Consumer Market. Inspections are carried out regularly and all identified deviations are promptly adjusted: retail outlets receive notifications, and prices are given in accordance with the established standards. In the store of the PUD trading chain, violations are not recorded— commented on the head of the department of analysis, forecasting the organization of trade of the department, Alexander Shcherbinin.
Representatives of the retail network confirmed that all the conditions of the memorandum are strictly respected, the goods of the corresponding list are freely available and are allocated by special labeling.
Thanks to such coordinated work of regional authorities and retail chains, in Sevastopol it was possible to create a steady mechanism for stabilizing prices for basic goods. This is especially important for socially vulnerable groups of the population, to which the availability of basic food and hygiene products is of fundamental importance.
