In Sevastopol, Russian Guards examined more than 50 mines — ammunition was found in the Balaklava region
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Explosive technicians from the Sevastopol riot police of the Russian Guard identified shells from the Great Patriotic War. A dangerous find was discovered in the Balaklava district of the city during excavation work near a vineyard.
Initially, local residents saw only four ammunition sticking out of the ground. However, the Russian Guard explosives technicians of the engineering and technical group of OMON “Berkut-S” who arrived at the scene counted 54 mortar mines with 82-mm caliber fuses during their inspection. Apparently, the reason for this was heavy rains, which washed away the cache from the Great Patriotic War,” noted the department’s press service.
In compliance with security measures, the shells were handed over to police officers until further destruction.
