The granddaughter of the victim turned to the police, who reported that her grandmother was a victim of robbers.
According to investigators, 18 and 21-year-old cousins, representatives of the gypsy nationality, arrived with their family from the Rostov region to Sevastopol in their Lada Grant car for the sale of bedding. Moving around the city, they offered to passers -by to buy underwear, pillows, blankets and other goods at high prices. So, one day they noticed a 76-year-old local resident and decided to earn extra money. Stopping next to the pensioner, one of the brothers began to persistently offer her the goods, and in order to place a potential customer more to himself, the salesmen even brought her home. Getting to the persuasion, the woman agreed to purchase a set of bedding worth 5 thousand rubles, but she did not have enough cash with her. Then the sellers invited her to pick up the goods and go up to the apartment for money, leaving them as a deposit of gold earrings worth 20 thousand rubles.
Arriving home, the pensioner boasted her granddaughter, who immediately realized that her grandmother was a victim of deception. The girl demanded to immediately go down and take a gold jewelry from the grief-commers. Seeing in the windows of the entrance that the woman was not returning alone, the suspects decided to hide. A relative of the victim managed to remember the number of the car and reported to the police, -voiced the details of the case in the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Sevastopol.
As a result of the operational-search measures, employees of the criminal investigation department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Leninsky district in interaction with the State traffic inspectorate stopped the car in which the suspects moved and detained them. As it turned out, the youngest of the brothers gave the golden decoration to his mother, not saying about his criminal origin. The stolen property was seized and will soon be returned to the legal owner.
A criminal case has been instituted against the detainees under paragraph “a” of part 2 of article 161 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation «robbery». The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to seven years.
