They were found guilty of committing a crime under Part 3 of Art. — paragraph «g» part 4 of Art. 228 .1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted illegal sale of narcotic drugs, committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, on a large scale). In January 2022 they began to implement their plan. The driver received and transported almost 12 grams of cocaine from St. Petersburg, but the police and the FSB detained him at the train station in Sevastopol and confiscated the drug. An investigation into the criminal case was conducted by the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. According to the petitions of the investigator supported by the prosecutor’s office, the defendants were chosen a measure of restraint in the form of detention.
The court of first instance appointed one man years in prison, and his accomplice, who transported the drug, 6 years in prison. Both must serve their sentences in a strict regime penal colony.
Defenders of the convicts appealed against the verdict, insisting on the acquittal of one person and reduction of punishment for another. However, the Sevastopol city court, taking into account the arguments of the city prosecutor’s office, rejected the appeals.
The verdict came into force.
