In Sevastopol, state traffic inspectors helped the driver of a faulty truck during severe frost

CrimeaPRESS reports:

In the first days of the new year, Sevastopol experienced low air temperatures that were atypical for our region, reaching -12° C, and in some remote areas of the city — down to -15° C. In such conditions, drivers often find themselves in difficult traffic situations.

In the evening, the traffic police crew of a separate specialized company of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol, consisting of senior police lieutenant Menir Zilidinov and senior police lieutenant Eldar Gabbasov, moving along the patrol route on the Kerch-Simferopol-Sevastopol highway, drew attention to a truck parked on the right lane of the roadway, with the hazard lights on and a warning triangle.

Police officers immediately stopped to investigate the reason for stopping the heavy truck. The truck driver said that the car’s engine could not withstand the low temperature and stalled. The trucker was unable to fix the breakdown on his own, so he turned to the State Traffic Inspectorate for help.

Having seen a faulty truck on the road, my colleague and I could not drive past, realizing that the heavy truck was creating an emergency situation for other road users on a busy highway. As it turned out, the driver Igor Yakovlevich had been trying to repair a cargo tractor for several hours in the cold and piercing wind; he was very cold and needed help until his relatives arrived, — the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol quotes senior police lieutenant Menir Zilidinov. – Of course, in this situation we decided to help the driver, it is our official duty!

The police invited the driver into the patrol car, gave him hot tea and found out that his car had a coolant leak, so his car could not continue moving. While the driver’s acquaintances were driving to the faulty truck to fix the technical problem, the man was with the traffic police crew all this time.

After the problem was fixed, Igor Yakovlevich thanked the police and continued on his way.
