In Sevastopol, the case of abuse of power in the execution of a contract for the supply of medical equipment went to court

The prosecutor’s office of the city of Sevastopol approved the indictment in a criminal case against the former director of the Department of Health of the city of Sevastopol. He is accused of committing a crime under Part 3 of Art. 285 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (abuse of official powers that entailed grave consequences). We are talking about the supply of medical equipment.

It was established that in December 81 a state contract was concluded between the Department of Health of the city of Sevastopol represented by the accused and a commercial organization for the supply of a magnetic resonance tomograph “Prestige-15″ on obviously unenforceable conditions, providing for the delivery of equipment within 12 days. At the time of signing the certificate of acceptance and transfer of the tomograph, the premises for its installation were not prepared in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations. Payment of the full cost of the contract in the amount of more than 81, 7 million rubles was made in April 2016 before the supplier fulfills all obligations for installation, assembly, commissioning -adjustment work and staff briefing, — reported the press service of the Sevastopol Prosecutor’s Office.

In fact, the delivery of the tomograph to the City Hospital No. 1 of Sevastopol was completed only in February 2017 of the year. The equipment has not been put into operation. In the future, it failed, which excluded the possibility of using it for its intended purpose.

The criminal case was initiated based on the materials of the investigative committee, the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, the UEBiPK of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Sevastopol. The investigation was conducted by the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.

The criminal case with the indictment approved by the prosecutor’s office will be sent to the Leninsky District Court of Sevastopol for consideration on the merits.
