In Sevastopol, the fire season will end on December 17
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In Sevastopol, resolutions have been adopted to cancel the special fire regime and end the fire season in 2023.
According to the director of the Department of Public Safety, Alexei Krasnokutsky, high humidity has established itself in Sevastopol, the average daily temperature has dropped, so the fire danger class in the forests is now zero. This makes it possible to cancel the special fire regime in the region. Restrictions on the use of pyrotechnic products, which were in effect under a special regime, were provided for by decree of the governor starting December 1.
The draft resolution on the end of the fire season in 2023 was presented by the director of the Department of Natural Resources and Ecology, Yulia Gavrilova.
The adoption of this resolution will allow us to begin preparations for the 2024 season to prevent forest fires and sum up the results of the current year. We can already say tentatively that the number of forest fires in our country has decreased by 23% compared to 2022, and the area covered by forest fires has decreased by 16%, – the press service of the head of Sevprirodnadzor quotes.
The end of the fire season is scheduled for December 17.
