How to get rich in tourism
Ideas for tourism development are an essential component of the new general plan, as was also stated by Nikolai Kikava, deputy director of the State Autonomous Institution “Moscow General Plan Institute”.
He listed the types of tourism that make up the city’s potential: sports, business, scientific, rehabilitation, youth, pilgrimage, cruise and yachting, cultural and educational, military-patriotic.
According to him, the existing tourist flow today reaches 430 thousand people a year, these are tourists who come to relax for a long time.
The excursion flow per year now reaches 2.5 million people, which, according to the developer of the master plan, is an absolute competitive advantage that must be used by directing funds to the development of urban infrastructure.
By making tourism sites more accessible, we make them more attractive to potential clients and visitors. In this regard, we expect that for the estimated duration of the General Plan it is quite possible to achieve an annual figure of 2.7 million holidaymakerssays Nikolai Kikava.
The creators of the master plan also predict that excursion tourism will reach 4.24 million tourists by 2046, which will be a huge contribution to the city’s economy and the well-being of its residents.
The available competitive advantages for the development of tourism in Sevastopol were listed: unique natural and climatic conditions, significant historical and cultural potential, the tax regime of the free economic zone, opportunities for the development of service industries of the sanatorium-resort and health complex.
Limitations include the lack of high-quality tourism infrastructure, including high-class temporary accommodation facilities, transport infrastructure, access to cultural heritage sites, the lack of the required amount of investment, a weak level of service, and a shortage of personnel with relevant competencies.
