The Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol has opened a criminal case against the head of the department, a pathologist at the State Budgetary Healthcare Institution of Sevastopol «City Hospital No. 5». The official is accused of receiving a bribe on an especially large scale (Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The Investigative Department for the Leninsky District established that the head of the department received more than 1 million rubles from an orderly for tacit permission to take money from persons providing funeral services for posthumous makeup of the bodies of the deceased. The official’s corrupt actions were identified by employees of the UFSB of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol and the UEBiPK of the UMVD of Russia for the city of Sevastopol. The investigation has brought charges against the defendant. Today, the court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for him— the Investigative Committee reported.
The suspect’s involvement in the commission of other crimes is being established.
Let us recall that on August 1, the head of the Sevastopol Bureau of Forensic Medicine was taken into custody. He and the head of one of the departments of the institution are also accused of receiving bribes on an especially large scale, and the orderly of the department is accused of giving a bribe to the management on an especially large scale.
