In Sevastopol, the interchange at the intersection of the street is being overhauled. Vakulenchuk, POR and Fiolentovskoe highway

Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev checked the results of the overhaul of one of the key traffic intersections at the intersection of Vakulenchuk Street, October Revolution Avenue and Fiolentovskoye Highway. The work took place within the framework of the national project “Safe Quality Roads”. All major work at the site has been completed in full; commissioning work on traffic light facilities and adjustment of work phases are now underway.

This year, in general, we had 146 road objects in our plan. This is one of the last complex objects that has actually been completed to date. Previously, the capacity was 4,000 cars per day, after reconstruction it will be 14,000 cars per day. That is, in fact, we have almost quadrupled the capacity of this interchange. The new transport interchange will help get rid of the concentration of traffic accidents, as well as reduce the occurrence of congestion and improve transport accessibility of the area by increasing capacity, redistributing traffic flows, adding additional traffic lanes, and using traffic light regulation.

Before the overhaul of the intersection, congestion and conflict situations leading to accidents were associated with the need for vehicle drivers to give way when turning left. Upon completion of work, vehicles turn left from the street. Vakulenchuk on Fiolentovskoye Highway will be carried out according to a traffic light signal. Oncoming traffic will be stopped by a red signal at this time.

For drivers traveling from Fiolentovskoe Highway towards Oktyabrskaya Revolyutsii Avenue, instead of turning left, they will move to the right, turn into a separate lane and then change lanes to the right lane to drive in the direction of Oktyabrskaya Revolyutsii Avenue and st. Stepanyan. Additionally, for drivers moving from October Revolution Avenue, a separate right-turn lane has been added in the direction of Stoletovsky Avenue, which will help eliminate congestion at its intersection with Fiolentovsky Highway.

Mikhail Razvozhaev emphasized that this year, to improve transport accessibility of the Gagarinsky district, work is being carried out on two large road facilities and a new traffic scheme has been launched at the intersection of Vakulenchuk — Menshikov — Rudneva streets.
