In Sevastopol, the owner of a marketplace order pick-up point tried to sell marijuana on a large scale

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Employees of the Drug Control Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the city of Sevastopol received operational information that a 45-year-old entrepreneur was involved in the illegal sale of drugs.

As a result of the operational search activities carried out, the information received was confirmed. Police established that the head of one of the order delivery points of a popular online store purchased a batch of marijuana from unidentified persons in a contactless manner and stored it in a utility room for subsequent sale. During the search, police officers found a polymer bag containing a substance of plant origin that had a characteristic odor. Also, high-precision electronic scales, a mobile phone and more than 190 thousand rubles in cash were confiscated from the suspect.— the details of the case were announced in the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol.

The study found that the contents of the package were marijuana with a total weight of more than 600 grams, which is a large size. Trying to avoid prosecution for attempted drug trafficking, the man unsuccessfully tried to convince law enforcement officers that he had purchased and stored illegal goods seized from him for personal use.

Currently, investigators of the investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Leninsky district have opened a criminal case against the detainee under Part 3 of Art. 30, paragraph “d”, part 4, art. 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The maximum sanction is imprisonment for a term of ten to twenty years.
