In Sevastopol, a preliminary investigation is underway in a criminal case on misappropriation and embezzlement of funds in a significant amount.

According to investigators, in the summer and autumn of this year 21-year-old cashier-seller of one of the cafes secretly misappropriated the money entrusted to her in the amount of 219 thousand rubles, and then spent them placing bets at a bookmaker. As a result of the inventory check, the entrepreneur revealed a shortage of funds and turned to the police , — reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol.

A criminal case was initiated against the suspect under Part 2 of Art. 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation «Assignment or embezzlement». The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to five years.
