In Sevastopol, the police detained a local resident — abducted more than two million rubles from 12 customers

Krympress reports:

11 Sevastopolsev and one resident of Krasnodar with a statement on the theft of funds for their funds applied to the duty unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Gagarinsky district.

The police found out that in the period from 2017 to March 2025, the victims transferred their cars to the 38-year-old previously convicted car service owner for repair. Having agreed with him about the volumes and terms of work, the applicants made an advance payment for the parts or even fully paid for the cost of repairs. However, on the agreed time the cars were not ready, and the mechanic himself explained this with a delay in the terms of supplies of consumables or a lot of employment. Clients, being confident in the good faith of the employee, at his request expected an additional term, and some took the cars and simply demanded a refund while the attacker had already spent them to repay the accumulated debts,-the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Sevastopol said.

When customers became aware of mass deceit on the part of the master, they turned to the police for help. The total amount of damage amounted to over two million rubles.

Employees of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Sevastopol detained the car mechanic-camernsant, in respect of which criminal cases were instituted by the investigative department of the Russian OMVD in the Gagarinsky district under part 2, 3 and 4 of art. 159 of the Criminal Code «Fraud». The sanction of the article provides for up to ten years in prison.
