In Sevastopol, the police detained a man to arouse hatred and enmity on a social network

The operatives of the Center for Combating Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Sevastopol, with the power support of the fighters of the Sobros «Sokol» of the Russian Guard, was detained by a local resident who carried out illegal activities of an extremist nature.
Employees of the ED Center established that a 30-year-old man, using his account in one of the social networks, posted in the free access for an unlimited circle of users information aimed at arousing hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of the dignity of a person on the grounds of nationality, language and origin. In relation to the detainee, an administrative protocol was drawn up on an administrative offense under Article 20.3.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation “The excitement of hatred or enmity, as well as the humiliation of human dignity”. Administrative material was sent to the prosecutor’s office of the city of Sevastopol. In addition, during operational measures, employees found that the offender on social networks called for violence and the implementation of extremist activities,-the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Sevastopol said.
In relation to the offender, the Investigative Department of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Art. 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation «Public calls for extremist activity.» The sanction of the article provides for a punishment of imprisonment for up to five years with deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or engage in certain activities.
The defendant found his guilt in unlawful activities.
