In Sevastopol, the police teach pensioners how to counter the tricks of remote scammers

During a meeting with pensioners and persons with disabilities, Ignat Korshunov, Deputy Head of the Police for Public Order Protection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nakhimovsky District, spoke about the most popular schemes used by attackers to steal money, namely, calls from unknown persons who pretend to be employees banks or law enforcement and report problems with a bank account or that a close relative is in trouble. Also, an actual scheme of deception for pensioners is the proposal to increase pension payments.
The police officer urged those present not to succumb to the tricks of scammers, but to stop talking with them and call their relatives on their own to make sure that everything is in order with them or contact the bank to make sure that no one was going to steal money, and also report a suspicious calling the police on phone number 102. He stressed that police officers would never call and demand money for release from liability, and bank employees did not report problems with money savings by phone, as they blocked access to bank accounts on their own, and they also never ask for bank card details, SMS codes and passwords from their customers. All those present took an active part in the conversation, entered into a dialogue with the police, asked questions of interest to them, and also received reminders from law enforcement officers on how not to become a victim of remote scammers.
