With the help of the linguistic game “The Speech Portrait of our Contemporary”, readers determined their level of culture of communication and knowledge of the Russian language. Competitions «Archaisms» and «Borrowed words» showed the knowledge of the children outdated words and their meaning in modern Russian. Readers for speed made up words, checking their erudition. Participation in the game gave the children an understanding of how much the vocabulary they used are different from the modern literary Russian language and that fashionable language trends are not always acceptable in a particular situation.
