In Sevastopol, the prosecutor's office and the court decided to wean a motorist from driving drunk

In Sevastopol, the prosecutor’s office sent to court a criminal case against a driver who repeatedly drove a vehicle while intoxicated. A 38-year-old citizen is charged under Part 2 of Art. 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (driving a car by a person in a state of intoxication, who has a criminal record for committing a similar crime).
As established during the investigation, a man in December 2022 at night was driving a car in a state of intoxication and on the street. Leo Tolstoy was stopped by a traffic police inspector. At the same time, the driver already has a criminal record on the fact of driving while intoxicated, committed earlier. Against the offender, a criminal case was initiated. The investigation was conducted by the Department of Inquiry of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Leninsky District of Sevastopol— reports the press service of the Sevastopol prosecutor’s office.
The district prosecutor’s office sent the criminal case to the Leninsky District Court of Sevastopol for consideration on the merits. The range of punishments is wide: from a large fine and correctional labor to imprisonment for up to 3 years.
