In Sevastopol, the prosecutor's office helped the pensioner deceived by the scammers to return the money

Krympress reports:

The prosecutor’s office of the Gagarinsky district of Sevastopol conducted an audit of compliance with the rights of an 80-year-old local resident who suffered from the actions of scammers.

It was established that in September 2023, unknown people called her and, introducing himself as employees of the Central Bank, convinced them to transfer their savings to a “safe score”. Acting under the influence of fraud, she transferred 80 thousand rubles to fraudsters. On this fact, police officers opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code (fraud). During the investigation, the owner of the bank account was set to which the money was transferred. It turned out to be a 16-year-old teenager living in the Republic of Tatarstan. The district prosecutor’s office applied to the court with a claim for the recovery of the amount of unjust enrichment from the owner of the bank account, -reported in the press service of the prosecutor’s office of Sevastopol.

The court granted the claims stated by the supervisory authority. Since the harm was caused by the actions of a minor, due to insufficient attention to him from his parents, the damage was recovered from the father and mother of the teenager in equal shares of 40 thousand rubles per each.

The execution of the court decision was under the control of the prosecutor’s office.

Currently, funds are held by a pensioner.
