In Sevastopol, the teenage son killed an alcoholic mother. What the court decided

Agreeing with the position of the state prosecutor of the prosecutor’s office of the Gagarinsky district of Sevastopol, the court issued a conviction in a criminal case against a 17-year-old young man.
He is found guilty under Part 4 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causing serious harm to human health, resulting in the death of the victim by negligence). It was established that the young man lived in an apartment with a 54-year-old mother. Earlier, his native grandmother lived with them. It was she who was engaged in raising a boy, but in January 2024 she died. Mother constantly abused alcohol, spoke negatively against her grandmother. Because of this, on December 31, 2024, on New Year’s Eve, a conflict occurred between her and her son. On the basis of hostility arising, he inflicted numerous blows to her with his arms and legs. Subsequently, the woman died of bodily injuries. The investigation was conducted by the Investigative Department of the Gagarinsky District of the city of Sevastopol of the State Pedagogical University of the IC of Russia in the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol,-the press service of the prosecutor’s office of Sevastopol said.
The Gagarinsky District Court of Sevastopol, when sentencing, took into account the sincere repentance of the young man, his minor age and other mitigating circumstances. 4 years of imprisonment in the educational colony are scheduled to be prescribed.
