In Sevastopol, the tourist season starts in normal mode

This was stated at a briefing in preparation for the tourist season in the coordination center of the government. It was attended by Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia Dmitry Vakhrukov, head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova, as well as Deputy Governor of Sevastopol Maria Litovko.

The head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova voiced the positive results of monitoring, which showed that the fuel oil and Sevastopol would not find the fuel oil in the water and on the coasts of Crimea and Sevastopol. Accordingly, the beaches in these regions are safe for organizing summer holidays.

On the territory of Crimea and Sevastopol, small emissions that were observed are quickly localized and do not affect the general condition of the coast, also allows us to conclude that this territory is suitable today for organizing the summer holiday season. And in this territory we will conduct enhanced monitoring with additional samples in order to prevent any complication of the situation. But today, more than 6 thousand samples conducted in Crimea and Sevastopol have not shown any increase in hygienic standards,-quotes the press service of the Government of Sevastopol, the head of the Rospotrebnadzor of the Russian Federation.

According to the Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia Dmitry Vakhrukov in Crimea and Sevastopol, as well as at other resorts of the Krasnodar Territory, preparation for the season is on a regular mode.

There is an increase in demand, and we expect an increase in the tourist flow. Therefore, the regions and the transport unit are facing the issue of ensuring the delivery of tourists. We have already prepared appropriate forecasts, we are discussing their implementation with the Ministry of Transport and the regions, — said Dmitry Vakhrukov.

It should be noted that since January 3, when the first spots of fuel oil were recorded, in Sevastopol under the leadership of Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev, the headquarters was deployed and work was launched to eliminate the consequences. It was cleaned of pollution of the rocky coast of the city of Sevastopol using a steam generator. On all beaches, as well as along the coastline and the seabed to a depth of 50 meters from the shore. Since January 14, 2025, there are no new emissions, and there are no oil spots on the water surface.

Now Sevastopol is actively preparing for the tourist season. In Sevastopol, more than 200 hotels and other accommodation facilities with a room fund of 7,250 rooms, which are now being classified and, including, are preparing for a high tourist season.

As for the reservations, we already see an increase in 73% in comparison with the first quarter of last year in the first quarter. On May holidays — reservation is 3 times higher than last year. And approximately a third of the license platform has already been booked for the summer period. Of course, we understand that the main increase in the reservation for the summer season will be in May— said the deputy governor of Sevastopol Maria Litovko.

The main object of attraction, which will increase the tourist flow this year in Sevastopol, is the New Chersonesos museum-stratum complex, which has accepted about 2 million people from the moment of opening. It is also worth noting the winery, which make up the wine route as part of the Terruarsevastopol project. In the direction of active and environmental tourism — “Big Sevastopol Trail”, which is visited annually by a large number of tourists.

Given the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the announced year of defenders of the Fatherland in the region, a route was prepared with a visit to the objects of show and memorable places dedicated to the period of the Great Patriotic War.

Also, the Government of Sevastopol developed the Road Tourist Route Sevastopol and, together with JSC TK Grand Service Express, launched the Vinograd Express train, whose program includes: tasting in branded and converted train wagons, excursions on attractions and winery. In 2025, the launch is planned since June.

Recall that the city retains a yellow level of danger — all forces are converted into an increased readiness regime to ensure the safety of residents and guests of the city.
