In August 7, the second youth historical and cultural forum “Origins” started in the Museum and Supervision Complex Complex. The opening ceremony was attended by the Governor of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhaev, Metropolitan of Simferopol and Crimean Tikhon, senator, member of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy Sergei Karyakin and head of the department for the implementation of patriotic education of the Federal Propertia Rosmolodezh Ivan Baykov.
The opening of the forum was noted by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Dear friends! Greetings in connection with the opening of the All-Russian Youth Historical and Cultural Forum «Origins». Your bright, substantial project has again united in the hospitable Sevastopol energetic, indifferent, initiative youth — representatives of volunteer movements, family clubs, students of creative universities and spiritual educational institutions. You have discussions and lectures ahead of you, round tables and training seminars. And of course, the key events of the current meeting are devoted to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Such a rich program will allow participants to master new knowledge and skills, to gain support for the implementation of their initiatives in the field of educating the younger generation based on the traditions of patriotism and citizenship, responsibility for the fate of the Motherland, and pride in the accomplishment of ancestors. I am sure that the forum will take place at a high organizational and creative level, will leave the participants an unforgettable impressions. The first shift was called «Opening». She united 160 pupils of theological academies and seminaries from all over the country: the guys came from the Pechor, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don, Belgorod, Saratov. Sevastopol was presented by three students of the Tauride Theological Seminary.
Last year, through the efforts of Vladyka Tikhon, the Forum “Source” found a new homeland in Sevastopol, in the New Chersonesus. And the fact that the first shift in the new forum is opening today, suggests that it becomes another beautiful, wonderful tradition. It is very symbolic and very important that the first shift gathered people who in the future will strengthen our Orthodox faith, bear the word of God, create, create. Your comrades in the New Chersonesus, in the «Point of Support» achieve great success and results, implementing their projects, discussion clubs, schools. And it’s just amazing when you see what results in a very short time you manage to achieve. This is, first of all, the spiritual development of young people. Let this energy be with you here throughout the shift, will remain with you for a long time and will always call you back again and again— said in his speech Mikhail Razvozhaev.
At the opening of the forum, the seminarians looked at the marching “Tauride Voyage”, a parade of flags took place specially for them — we recall that it was first shown in the “New Chersonesus” on Russia Day. Ahead of the participants in the race is a large educational and spiritual program; Including, they will meet with the editor -in -chief of RT TV channel Margarita Simonyan and Archpriest Andrei Tkachev. The result of the race will be the creation of a practical collection with design developments for educational activities throughout the country.
You arrived at the place of baptism of Prince Vladimir and his squad — to where our Russian Orthodoxy originated, where the history of statehood, culture and our entire general civilization began. This is the place of our homeland, the source of the Fatherland. It is very responsible to accept you here. We will do everything so that you can truly exchange the experience that each of us has accumulated-for the sake of the main thing in our lives: serving God, His Holy Church and our Fatherland. The participants will spend one of the days of the race in the Artek camp: they will get acquainted with the best practices for designing shifts and see how spiritual education works in the children’s environment.
Spiritual events will take a special place in the program. Participants will visit the night liturgy in the walls of the ancient basilica of Chersonesos, built in the VI century and discovered in 1935. This is one of the key Christian shrines of the peninsula, the symbol of Sevastopol. Young people will sing as part of a consolidated choir, participate in worship, confession, communion and altar obedience.
I believe that the forum carries the most important patriotic mission: the involvement of our youth in the right spiritual and moral values. I am sure that it will be interesting, informative, and you will get a lot of impressions and many new knowledge. The Forum «Sources» is aimed at strengthening spiritual and moral values, the education of love for the homeland and respect for the history of the Fatherland, the cultural heritage and traditions of their people and the family.
What is patriotism? This rather sonorous word has more than 140 definitions. For me, this is love for the country, for the family, for my neighbor. This is mercy, it is a desire to help each other, to support, it is friendship, friendship of peoples friendship between us. We are faced with a very important, but insanely difficult task: to make these main words in life as often as possible in the thoughts of our friends, and indeed the whole country, the people of our country. The arrival of «Opening» will last until August 13. Five more races will follow him:
-“Family values” (August 18-22)-a race for families aged 18 to 55 years with children aged 7 years inclusive.
-“Creation” (August 27-September 2)-a race for students of creative educational organizations, young artists and activists of art universities.
-“Keepers of History” (September 8-12)-a race for activists of the movement of the first and other children’s and youth competitions and communities.
-“The origins. Media” (September 17-21)-a race for young specialists of the media sphere and IT sphere.
-“The School of Young Humanities” (September 26-30)-young humanities: students, teachers, activists of public organizations, Orthodox youth.

In 2022, for the first time, on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Youth Historical and Cultural Forum “Sources” was launched, and already in 2023 the opening of the year-round youth educational historical and cultural center “Source” in the city of Pechora of the Pskov region. This is the first educational center in which not only young people can study, but also young families with children. Thematic races of projects of the Center are held for participants of SV, historians, archivists, employees of museums, architects, artists, restorers, artists, archaeologists, media specialists, young families, children’s activists and students some movements and many others.
In 2024, the Source Center found a second house: it is located on the territory of the New Chersonesos museum-guard complex and hospitably accepted 1,000 participants in the Youth Historical and Cultural Forum “Origins”. In 2025, the participation of 2000 young people in the forum «Sources» and the All -Russian project «Origins. School» was planned.
