This year, in Sevastopol, with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives and the Fund of Russian Abroad, within the framework of the Averchenko Expedition project, a premiere series of free screenings of the play Averchenko Islands will be held. Performances will be shown with the participation of the first Sevastopol professional street theater «Soft Sign». May 21 at 16:00 on the territory of the yacht club «South» will be the first premiere of the play «Averchenko’s Islands». The viewer is waiting for a completely new unusual format of the performance with the stage going out to the open sea. Admission to the performance is free.
«Averchenko’s Islands» is a street performance based on the stories of our compatriot, Sevastopol resident Arkady Averchenko. It is interesting that the audience will also be able to take part in the performance itself, and at the same time independently think up ideas and meanings that will be close to them thanks to the interpretation of the acting. The work of Arkady Timofeevich very subtly conveys the essence of human relationships and the experience of the Russian soul, which does not lose its relevance to this day.
It is interesting for me to make sure that in the already written text, the finished plot with its structure, one can see free space and space for the improvisation of the artist, because the main criterion that distinguishes street theater from everything else is improvisation, interactivity and mobility.
