In Sevastopol, they “caught” drivers who violate the rules for transporting waste in the city

Employees of the Sevastopol Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor’s Office held a joint raid with specialists of the Department of Natural Resources and Ecology of the city and the traffic police.

The purpose of the departure was to identify and suppress violations of environmental legislation during the transportation of waste in different areas of the city. Five trucks transported construction waste were stopped and checked. The availability of the necessary documents was checked: a waste-transport invoice for waste grades 5, a certificate of waste and a dangers grade 4, a license for transportation of waste, waste passport, and confirmation of learning learning procedures for waste management,-the press service of the prosecutor’s office of Sevastopol said.

Based on the results of the audit, the fact of moving construction waste was suppressed in the absence of permissive environmental documentation, in connection with which the police officer drawn up a protocol on an administrative offense under Part 1 of Art. 8.2 Administrative Code of the Russian Federation (non -compliance with the requirements in the field of environmental protection when treating production and consumption waste). The case file is sent for consideration to Sevprirodnadzor.

Such trips are carried out by the environmental prosecutor’s office systematically and will continue.

In 2024, 12 such events took place. According to their results, 15 facts of moving construction waste were stopped in the absence of permits of environmental documentation. For each violation, the territorial departments of the police opened cases of an administrative offense under Part 1 of Art. 8.2 Administrative Code of the Russian Federation. The guilty faces are fined.
