In Sevastopol, they deal with the case of the injury of a blind woman

According to the materials of the prosecutor’s office, a criminal case was initiated on the fact of injuring a blind woman as a result of a fall near a shopping pavilion.
The prosecutor’s office of the Nakhimovsky district of the city of Sevastopol conducted an audit on the appeal of a blind woman born in 1987 on the fact of her fall on the street, injury and further hospitalization. The appeal was received in March 2023 during an on-site personal reception of citizens held by the deputy prosecutor of the city Anatoly Abramenko in the Sevastopol regional branch of the public organization of the disabled «All-Russian Society of the Blind». Information about the incident was also published on social networks and the media. In the course of the prosecutor’s check, it was established that the woman is a visually impaired person of the 1st group. In December 2022, while approaching the grocery trade pavilion at the address: 1-A on Pobedy Avenue, in the city of Sevastopol, she got her foot into the opening of the open storm channel adjacent to it. As a result of the fall, she received a closed fracture of the left ankle, and therefore had to undergo long-term treatment.— noted in the press service of the prosecutor’s office of Sevastopol.
In violation of the requirements of the legislation on the protection of consumer rights and social protection of persons with disabilities, the necessary conditions for unhindered access of persons with disabilities to social infrastructure facilities, the possibility of independent movement around the territory where they are located, entry into and exit from them, safety of life and consumer health.
The prosecutor’s office of the district sent the materials of the check to the investigating body. Based on the results of their consideration, the investigative department for the Nakhimovsky district of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol initiated a criminal case under Part 1 of Art. 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (provision of services that do not meet security requirements).
The course and results of the investigation are under the control of the prosecutor’s office.
