In Sevastopol, they launched the year of the defender of the Fatherland

As part of the event, the Governor of Sevastopol Mikhail Podvozhaev announced the beginning of the year of the defender of the Fatherland in Sevastopol.

By decree of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, 2025 was declared in the country the year of the defender of the Fatherland. It will be dedicated to the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, as well as the support of participants in a special military operation.

This year is symbolic. On the one hand, the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory is coming. And on the other hand, today we will empathize with the whole country what is happening in the zone of a special military operation, where our guys are valiantly fight the enemy. This is the connection of generations that Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin spoke of more than once, this is a bridge that connects the times. We believe that our victory will be an ambulance. This faith is strengthened by our fighters who commit exploits, protecting our homeland. Therefore, today all our thoughts, hopes and gratitude — with them, — said Mikhail Razvozhaev in his speech.

In the hall of the Palace of Culture of Fishermen, military personnel, veterans, members of their families, law enforcement officers, and cadets gathered.

The deputy commander of the 810th Marine Brigade with the call sign “True” thanked all Sevastopolites for supporting the fighters: “Thanks to everyone for faith, for patience. Thanks to our wives, our relatives and friends. We are doing our job, definitely the truth is behind us, God is with us, and the victory will be behind us! ”
