Today and on weekends, in the evening and at night, traffic police officers will pay special attention to drunk drivers at the wheel. The preventive measure, according to the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs, is aimed at maintaining public order in Sevastopol.
Crews will work not only on the main city highways, but also in remote rural settlements. Drivers with signs of intoxication will be checked for the presence of alcohol in the exhaled air using a breathalyzer , — noted in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol.
Recall that in case of refusal of a medical examination, as well as when driving while intoxicated, the driver faces an administrative fine in the amount of thirty thousand rubles with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of one and a half to two years.
In case of repeated drunken driving, the driver faces criminal liability under article 264 note 1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, for which punishment is provided in the form of a fine in the amount of 200 up to 300 thousand rubles, or imprisonment for up to two years.
According to the traffic police, only 1 194 driver in a state of intoxication has been identified on the roads of the city since the beginning of the year.
