In Shchelkino the bathhouse was extinguished — it “threatened” to set the house on fire
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The evening before, a signal was received about a fire in the city of Shchelkino, where a bathhouse caught fire on the territory of one of the private households. There was a threat of fire spreading to a residential building.
To extinguish the fire, employees of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the Fire Department of the city of Shchelkino of the State Institution of the Republic of Crimea «Fire Protection of the Republic of Crimea» went out. Firefighters laid hose lines and extinguished the fire over an area of 25 sq.m. No further “transition” of fire was allowed,” noted the press service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in Crimea.
There were no injuries, the cause is being established by experts.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea strongly recommends observing fire safety when operating the bathhouse:
· care must be taken to ensure that the wooden, and therefore flammable, parts of the bathhouse are insulated or removed at a considerable distance from the hot parts of the stove and chimney. Insulation can be either a fireproof material or a material with low thermal conductivity.
· if a thick-walled stove-heater has a combustible base, then the distance from the floor to the bottom of the ash pan should be at least 13 — 15 cm, and to the bottom of the smoke ducts — 22 — 24 cm. If the base is non-combustible, the bottom of the ash pan and all smoke ducts can be at floor level.
· stoves with thin walls must be separated from the wooden floor with asbestos cardboard, 10 — 12 mm thick, and roofing steel stuffed on top of it.
· Metal stoves should be installed on a base of two rows of bricks. Under the bricks there should be a double layer of felt soaked in clay mortar.
· to protect the floor from fire and from falling coals, a metal sheet must be nailed to the floor near the fire door.
· there must be a distance of at least 150 cm between the combustion door and the opposite wall. The wall that is located around the combustion door must be plastered or upholstered with roofing steel, under which you need to place felt impregnated with clay mortar.
· be sure to ensure that the distance between the stove and a wooden wall or other partition is about 15 cm, and between the nearest smoke vent and the wall is about 20 -25 cm.
· the contact points between the roof (any type of covering) and the chimney must be protected with a smoke collar made of roofing steel.
In case of emergency, you must call 112 or 101.
