In Simferopol, a local resident’s car was confiscated for drunk driving
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The prosecutor’s office of the Kievsky district of the city of Simferopol supported the state prosecution in a criminal case against a local resident. He was found guilty under Part 1 of Art. 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (driving a car while intoxicated by a person brought to administrative responsibility for a similar act).
The court found that the convict, having previously been brought to administrative responsibility for driving a vehicle while intoxicated, did not draw the appropriate conclusions for himself and in February of this year, after drinking alcohol, he began driving a Skoda Roomster. Moving along one of the streets in the city of Simferopol, he was stopped by traffic police officers— said the prosecutor’s office of the Republic of Crimea.
The court, taking into account the opinion of the state prosecutor, sentenced the man to 200 hours of compulsory labor. He is deprived of the right to engage in activities related to driving all types of vehicles for a period of 3 years. The car belonging to the convicted person was confiscated to the state. The verdict did not enter into legal force.
