In Simferopol, a man was convicted of an accident in which a pedestrian died

The prosecutor’s office of the Central District of Simferopol supported the state prosecution in a criminal case against a local resident. He was found guilty of committing a crime under Part 3 of Art. 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic rules by a person driving a car, resulting in the death of a person through negligence).
The court found that in December 2022, in the evening, the convict, driving a Mazda car, moving along Balaklavskaya Street in the city of Simferopol, hit a woman who was crossing the roadway from left to right relative to the movement of the car. The pedestrian died at the scene from his injuries.— reported the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Crimea.
The court, taking into account the opinion of the prosecutor, sentenced the man to 2 years in prison with deprivation of the right to drive all types of vehicles for 2 years 10 months. The culprit will have to serve his sentence in a penal colony. Moral damages in the amount of 600 thousand rubles were recovered in favor of the relatives of the deceased. The verdict did not enter into legal force.
