In Simferopol, the prosecutor’s office supported the state prosecution in a criminal case against a local resident. He was found guilty of Part 3 of Art. 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic rules resulting in the death of the victim through negligence).
The court found that at the end of June 2023, the convict was driving a Skoda Octavia car at night along Sevastopolskaya Street at a speed of 112 km/h. Approaching Karamanova Street, the man hit a pedestrian who was crossing the road in the wrong place. The victim died at the scene from his injuries.— reported the prosecutor’s office.
The court, taking into account the opinion of the state prosecutor, sentenced the perpetrator to 1 year and 6 months of imprisonment to be served in a penal colony with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of 2 years. The verdict did not enter into legal force.
