In Simferopol, a sentence was passed on fraud with a land plot worth more than 1.7 million rubles

In Simferopol, a court ruled in a criminal case against a former employee of the State Institution “State Archive of the Republic of Crimea” and two other residents of Crimea. Depending on the role and degree of participation, they were found guilty of committing a crime under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud, using official position, committed by a group of persons by prior agreement, on an especially large scale).
The court established that in 2018-2019, the chief archivist of the State Institution “State Archive of the Republic of Crimea”, together with two other persons, replaced the decision of the executive committee of the Simferopol City Council of 1998 on transferring the land plot to the citizen for a fake one. Subsequently, on its basis, the land plot was put on the state cadastral register, and the right of ownership was registered for one of the defendants. The crime caused damage to the administration of Simferopol in the amount of more than 1.7 million rublesthe prosecutor’s office said.
The court, taking into account the role of each, sentenced the former archivist and another defendant to 2 years of imprisonment with probation for 3 years. The third defendant was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison to be served in a general regime correctional colony.
