The amount of damage amounted to about 25 thousand rubles.

As a result of operational-search activities, the employees of the criminal investigation department of the OP No. 2 «Kievskiy» of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Simferopol identified the suspect. She was a 66-year-old local resident. The woman was arrested by police officers and taken to the police station. Thinking that they were intended for visitors with poor eyesight, I took them to fill out documents, but after trying them on I decided to keep them for myself, — the details were announced to the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Crimea.

The investigator of OP No. 2 «Kievskiy» of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Simferopol initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Theft).

The malefactor was chosen a measure of restraint in the form of a written undertaking not to leave, she faces up to five years in prison.

Police warn: an item left unattended in a public place is someone else’s property. Taking it for yourself is tantamount to stealing.

The main reason for thefts with free access is that citizens themselves leave their property unattended, which becomes easy prey for criminals who steal other people’s property in public places, institutions, and places of recreation.

If you are a victim or witness of a crime, you must immediately contact the nearest police station or call 102.
