In Simferopol, a verdict was passed in a criminal case on the organization of illegal gambling activities

The Central District Court of Simferopol issued a verdict in a criminal case against 9 residents of the region, the Republic of Chuvashia and the Republic of Mari El. They were found guilty of committing a crime under Part 3 of Art. 171.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal organization and conduct of gambling outside the gambling zone).

The court established that the attackers, for the purpose of gambling, found 4 premises located in Simferopol and Yalta, purchased more than 70 pieces of gaming equipment. The illegal activities of the organized group were stopped by law enforcement officers in March 2023, gaming equipment was seized from illegal circulation— reported in the prosecutor’s office of the Crimea.

It is emphasized that as a result of their activities, the attackers received an income in the amount of more than 32 million rubles.

The court, taking into account the position of the public prosecutor, sentenced the defendants to various terms of imprisonment from 1 to 3 years, which were assigned conditionally with the establishment of probationary periods. The total amount of fines imposed on the attackers amounted to 1 million rubles. The court, at the request of the prosecutor, recovered from the convicts the damage caused by the crime.
