In Simferopol, an employee of a healthcare institution will answer for extorting a bribe

In Simferopol, the prosecutor’s office approved an indictment in a criminal case against a former employee of the Federal Budgetary Institution of Health Care «Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology in the Republic of Crimea and the federal city of Sevastopol.» The woman is accused of committing a crime under paragraph «b» part 5 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (receiving a bribe in a significant amount by an official with extortion of a bribe).
According to the investigation, the defendant, being an official of a healthcare institution, threatening to make a negative conclusion based on the results of sanitary and epidemiological examinations of project documentation for the production site, demanded illegal remuneration from the enterprise. Later, for making a positive decision, she received a bribe in the amount of 75 thousand rubles.— reported in the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Crimea.
After transferring the money, the accused was detained by officers of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. The criminal case was sent to the Kyiv District Court of Simferopol for consideration on the merits.
