In Simferopol, an expensive car was confiscated for driving while intoxicated

In Simferopol, the Zheleznodorozhny district prosecutor’s office supported the state prosecution in a criminal case against a local resident.

The man was found guilty under Part 1 of Art. 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (driving a vehicle by a person in a state of intoxication subject to administrative punishment for a similar act).

The court found that the convict, having been brought to administrative responsibility for driving a vehicle while intoxicated, did not draw the appropriate conclusions for himself and in November 2023, after drinking alcohol, he again began driving a Nissan Qashqai. Moving along Gagarin Street in the city of Simferopol, he was stopped by traffic police officials— reported the prosecutor’s office.

The court, taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, sentenced the man to a fine of 200 thousand rubles with deprivation of the right to engage in activities related to driving vehicles for a period of 2 years.

The Nissan Qashqai car belonging to the convicted person was confiscated to the state.
