In Simferopol, police detained a local resident suspected of setting a car on fire

At night in Simferopol, a UAZ 2206 car caught fire in one of the courtyards. As it turned out, it caught fire “for a reason.”

Employees of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea, together with colleagues from OP No. 1 “Zheleznodorozhny” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Simferopol, with the force support of a special unit during the implementation of a complex of operational search activities, identified and detained a 51-year-old local resident on suspicion of committing arson . As a result of painstaking work, it was established that the suspect, while on the street. Zheleznodorozhnaya committed arson of a vehicle belonging to his acquaintance, due to hostile relations that arose between them— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.

The investigation of OP No. 1 “Zheleznodorozhny” of the Investigative Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Simferopol opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 167 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Intentional destruction or damage to property).

The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for a term of up to five years.
