In Simferopol, the clearing of the Slavyanka River was completed ahead of schedule under the Ecology national project
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Four kilometers of the Slavyanka River in the Republic of Crimea were restored thanks to the federal project “Preservation of Unique Water Bodies” of the national project “Ecology”, which is being implemented by decision of the President of Russia. Rosvodresursy allocated 20.5 million rubles to the region to hold the event in 2023. The project was expected to complete the clearing next year, but additional funding allowed the entire scope of work to be completed ahead of schedule. As a result, it was possible to improve the ecological condition of the hydrographic network and stop the depletion of the water body.
The Slavyanka is a small river, its length does not exceed 10 kilometers. The work site partially ran along a densely built-up residential sector. The river bed was artificially narrowed due to fallen tree trunks and accumulations of household waste. There was a serious violation and restriction of water outflow, which led to swamping of the territory.
Favorable living conditions for the population and the development of the economic potential of the territory are directly related to the state of the environment. The comprehensive improvement of water bodies under the national project “Ecology” has been planned in the Republic of Crimea since 2020, during which time the environmental living conditions near water bodies have improved for 13.3 thousand residents of the peninsula– the press service quotes Natalia Sologub, deputy head of Rosvodresursy.
Also in 2023, under the federal project “Preservation of Unique Water Bodies”, an event was completed on the main river of Crimea: the Salgir and its tributaries were cleared in the 3 most problematic areas within the boundaries of the Simferopol region. Earlier, at the expense of federal budget funds, the Otuz River and the Kiziltashsky Stream in Feodosia were restored on the peninsula.
