In Simferopol, the elimination of ragweed growth sites, a dangerous allergen, continues
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In Simferopol, outbreaks of quarantine plants are being actively eliminated. This was reported by Ivan Lisechko, head of the improvement department of the city economy department of the administration of the Crimean capital. He also noted that workers are chemically treating plants. When performing this procedure, workers use a preparation that is approved for use in the city, is effective in destroying weeds and is safe for people.
The activities are also carried out in a combined manner (mowing, chemical treatment, collection and removal). The volume of work is about 200 hectares.
Currently, the contractor is carrying out work to eliminate ragweed outbreaks in the Kamenka microdistrict. More than 23 hectares will be treated here. 10 specialists are involved in the work.— noted Ivan Lisechko.
Ambrosia artemisiifolia is an annual herbaceous plant. Allergists consider tiny ragweed pollen to be one of the most aggressive allergens, which, along with an allergic reaction, can cause asthma. In addition, ragweed spreads quickly and greatly dries out the soil in cultivated crops, causing oppression of the sown plants.
