In Simferopol, a man was convicted of fraud in the manufacture of furniture. He was found guilty of committing 3 episodes of crimes under Part 2 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud causing significant damage to a citizen).

The court found that the man in the period from 2021 to 2022 entered into contracts with the victims for the manufacture of furniture, which he did not intend to fulfill. Thus, the convict took possession of the funds of the victims for a total amount of 315 thousand rubles— told the details in the prosecutor’s office.

The court, taking into account the position of the prosecutor, sentenced the perpetrator to 1 year and 8 months in prison. The convict will serve his sentence in a colony-settlement. The verdict did not enter into force.
