In Simferopol, the prosecutor's office sent a criminal case to court about a traffic accident in which a motorcyclist died

In Simferopol, the culprit of a fatal accident — the driver of a passenger car — will be tried. According to the preliminary investigation authorities, in November 2023, the accused, while driving a Peugeot, was driving along Izobilnaya Street in the city of Simferopol and did not make sure that the maneuver he was making was safe when turning left. The accused collided with a Yamaha motorcycle moving in the opposite direction.

As a result of the traffic accident, the motorcycle driver received multiple injuries from which he died in a medical facility.

The criminal case has been sent to the Central District Court of Simferopol. The perpetrator of the fatal accident is charged under Part 3 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic rules that resulted in the death of a person through negligence). The maximum penalty under this article is imprisonment for up to 5 years.
