In the Bakhchisarai region, an orphan received unsuitable housing. The court put an end to history

The Bakhchisarai District Court of the Republic of Crimea, at the initiative of the victim, terminated the criminal case against an official of the district administration who was negligent in agreeing on a decision on the suitability of housing for a person from among orphans and children left without parental care.

In June 2022, a rental agreement was concluded between the administration of the Bakhchisaray district and a young man from among orphans and children left without parental care, and the latter was given ownership and use of an apartment. However, it turned out that the living space did not meet technical standards and certain rules. The pre-trial investigation authorities identified the culprit and initiated a criminal case against the head of the housing and communal services and transport department of the administration of the Bakhchisaray district of the Republic of Crimea, who showed criminal negligence and approved the resolution “On the inclusion of residential premises in the specialized housing stock of the Bakhchisaray district of the Republic of Crimea”, while not anticipating the onset of negative consequences, she did not actually inspect the apartment for compliance with the type and quality of housing— reported the press service of the court.

During the court’s consideration of the criminal case, information was provided about the Bakhchisarai District Administration of the Republic of Crimea bringing the specified residential premises into compliance with the requirements of the current legislation for residential premises. At the court hearing, the victim made an application to terminate the criminal case in connection with reconciliation with the defendant, since the harm caused to him had been smoothed over and his living conditions had been improved.

The court took into account all the circumstances of the criminal case, including the fact that the defendant committed a crime for the first time, which belongs to the category of crimes of minor gravity, admitted guilt in full, repented, and on the basis of the current legislation of the Russian Federation, the court terminated the criminal case and released the woman from criminal liability.

The resolution did not enter into legal force.
