In the Black Sea, more than 303 km of the coast were cleaned of oil products

More than 303 km of the coastline was cleaned in the Crimea and the Krasnodar Territory after an emergency with tankers in the Black Sea. This was reported to TASS in the press service of the Ministry of Emergencies of the Russian Federation.

In total, from the beginning of work on the coast, more than 303 km of the coastline, including repeatedly, have been cleaned. 175.8 thousand tons of contaminated soil were collected, from which more than 134 thousand tons were taken to temporary storage sites. Specialized organizations carry out work on the disposal of polluted soil exported from the coastline of the Republic of Crimea, the Krasnodar Territory and the city of Sevastopol— the message says.

The department noted that the divers of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia with the help of tele -controlled underwater devices continue to examine the sunken units of tankers, and also collect oil products from the sea bottom along the coast. Specialists raise the collected bags with fuel oil to the surface and transport them ashore for further disposal.
