CrimeaPRESS reports:
In the Black Sea region of Crimea, two local residents were convicted of illegal fishing of shrimp and other biological resources (Part 3 of Article 256 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The court found that in June of this year, the convicts, equipped with a Venter-type trap gun, caught Black Sea grass shrimp, grass goby, Black Sea silverside, ocellated wrasse, grass crab in the waters of Lake Donuzlav of the Black Sea, which is a spawning site and the route to it specified types of biological resources, causing damage in the amount of more than 270 thousand rubles,” the prosecutor’s office provided details.
The men were detained by FSB border control officers with the illegally caught catch. The convicts admitted their guilt in full and voluntarily compensated for the damage caused.
The court, taking into account the opinion of the state prosecutor, sentenced the perpetrators to 2 years of suspended imprisonment with probationary periods of 1 year and 6 months each. The verdict did not enter into legal force.
