Every day, specialists inspect almost 1 thousand km of the coastline of Kuban and Crimea for fuel oil emissions from wrecked tankers, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations told TASS:
In the Krasnodar Territory, the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, the work of 449 interdepartmental monitoring groups has been organized. A coastline of more than 955 km is surveyed daily.
During the work, 303 km of coastline was cleaned, in some places cleaning was carried out several times. 173 thousand tons of contaminated soil were collected. In the Black Sea, 3,469 square meters were surveyed. km of water area. For this purpose, sea vessels, aviation and drones are involved. Divers continue to monitor sunken parts of tankers, the seabed and underwater beach infrastructure.
